The Paschal Candle

Paschal Candle 

A large candle that symbolizes the risen Christ. It is often decorated with a cross, symbols of the resurrection, the Greek letters Alpha and Omega, and the year. The term “Paschal” concerns Easter or Passover. At the Easter Vigil, the Paschal candle is lit from the new fire.       The St. James’ Camera Club meets on the 2nd Tuesday of each month in the St. James’ Parish Hall from 7:00 pm to around 9:00 pm.  All are welcome.

The Next Thursday Night distribution is February 23 at 6:30pm to 7:15pm Please arrive at 6:00pm to help with the distribution on Thursday.

The Goshen Ecumenical Pantry Inc.  Housed in the Goshen First Presbyterian Church at 33 Park Place, Goshen, hands our food to Goshen residents, on the second Saturday of each month from 9:30am to 10:30am  Please arrive at 8:50am to help with the distribution on Saturday. & on the last Thursday of the month from 6:30pm to 7:15pm. Please arrive at 6:00pm to help on the Thursday distribution.

The Free Community Dinner at St. James’ Community Dinner. February 25 at 5:30pm

Goshen’s Youth Ending Hunger Club will host, the February 25 Community Dinner at St. James’.

The dinner will be held @ 5:30 pm  on January 28 in the  St. James’ Parish Hall.  

Started in June of 1999, the Community Dinner at St. James’ began as a program to help feed those who could use a free meal and companionship, at the end of each month when funds may be low, and people find it hard to keep food on the table.
